The Saints went 13–3 in the regular season and the Colts went 14–2. The Saints had already beaten the Arizona Cardinals in the Divisional round and the Minnesota Vikings in the NFC Championship Game. Counting from the 1999 season, it was the franchise’s first Super Bowl title. The loss ended the Colts’ season.
