Raiders beat Chargers 9–6 in 2000 Week 1

The Oakland Raiders beat the San Diego Chargers 9–6 at home at Network Associates Coliseum in Week 1 of the 2000 regular season on September 3, 2000. It was decided by 3 points, a field goal or less.

The 15 combined points were the fewest in any game of Week 1.

The result moved the Raiders to 1–0 and dropped the Chargers to 0–1. The Chargers finished 2000 at 1–15 and missed the playoffs. The Raiders finished 2000 at 12–4 and lost in the AFC Championship Game.
