Buccaneers win Super Bowl XXXVII, 48–21 over the Oakland Raiders
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers beat the Oakland Raiders 48–21 at Qualcomm Stadium, a neutral site, in Super Bowl XXXVII on January 26, 2003.
The Raiders went 11–5 in the regular season and the Buccaneers went 12–4. The Buccaneers had already beaten the San Francisco 49ers in the Divisional round and the Philadelphia Eagles in the NFC Championship Game. Counting from the 1999 season, it was the franchise’s first Super Bowl title. The loss ended the Raiders’ season. The Buccaneers’ 48 points were their most in any game of 2002.
In their previous meeting, the Oakland Raiders won 45–0 on December 19, 1999. When they met again, the Oakland Raiders won 30–20 on September 26, 2004.
