Patriots beat Chargers 21–12 in the AFC Championship Game

The New England Patriots beat the San Diego Chargers 21–12 at home at Gillette Stadium in the AFC Championship Game of the 2007 playoffs on January 20, 2008.

The Chargers went 11–5 in the regular season and the Patriots went 16–0. The Patriots had already beaten the Jacksonville Jaguars in the Divisional round. The Patriots’ run ended in the Super Bowl XLII, a 17–14 loss to the New York Giants. The loss ended the Chargers’ season. The Chargers’ 12 points were their fewest in any game of 2007.

In their previous meeting, the New England Patriots won 38–14 on September 16, 2007. When they met again, the San Diego Chargers won 30–10 on October 12, 2008.
