The Philadelphia Eagles signed tackle Xavier Truss and defensive tackle Zion Wilson to the practice squad on Tuesday and released tight end Josiah Deguara and cornerback Shaun Wade from it, the team announced.

Truss: two titles at Georgia

Truss, a 6-foot-7 tackle, was the highest-rated high school prospect in Rhode Island history and played in 66 games on Georgia’s offensive line, winning two College Football Playoff national championships. He went undrafted in 2025 and signed with the Denver Broncos, who waived him at final cuts. The New Orleans Saints claimed him, and he appeared in seven games as a rookie. New Orleans waived him this preseason. He then joined the Cleveland Browns’ practice squad before being released on October 6.

Wilson returns

Wilson, an undrafted rookie out of East Carolina, spent training camp with Philadelphia and was waived at final cuts. In three preseason games he had nine tackles, two tackles for loss or no gain and four quarterback pressures. The 6-foot-3, 316-pounder began his college career as a walk-on offensive lineman, switched to defense in 2024 and had 42 tackles, 10 for loss, and seven sacks in his only season as a starter in 2025. He had planned to play another college season at Virginia, but the NCAA denied his eligibility waiver.

Deguara and Wade out

Deguara, a third-round pick by the Green Bay Packers out of Cincinnati in 2020, joined the practice squad after Week 1 and was elevated against the Los Angeles Rams while the tight end room was hit by injuries. He has 53 catches for 471 yards and three touchdowns in his career with the Packers, Jacksonville Jaguars and Arizona Cardinals.

Wade, a 2020 fifth-round pick by the Baltimore Ravens out of Ohio State, played 20 games over three seasons with the New England Patriots. He signed with Philadelphia in June, led the NFL with three forced fumbles in the preseason, was waived at final cuts and returned to the practice squad later in September.

What’s next

The moves come with the Eagles at 2-3 after a 19-17 loss to the Jaguars in London. On Wednesday they opened practice windows for defensive back Jakorian Bennett, tight ends Grant Calcaterra and Eli Stowers and guard Landon Dickerson, and added defensive back Dean Clark to the practice squad. Philadelphia hosts the Carolina Panthers on Sunday.
