Profile updated October 2, 2026: Week 4 clearance, early-season interceptions and career background.
Julian Love is a safety for the Seattle Seahawks. He is set to return against the Chargers on October 4 after missing Seattle’s Week 3 trip to Washington with a calf injury. He practiced fully Friday and received no game-status designation on the October 2 injury report.
What changed during the week?
Love was limited Wednesday and Thursday before returning to full participation Friday. His absence lasted one game in the team’s latest update. AJ Finley had made his first career start while Love was out, playing alongside Rodney Thomas II. The return restores an experienced player to a safety group that had already needed replacements.
The Friday report is the current availability checkpoint. It does not establish how many snaps Love will play, and the final active list is issued on game day.
Early impact in 2026
Love intercepted a pass in each of his first two games this season, against New England and Arizona. The team’s regular-season log records two interceptions and nine combined tackles over those two appearances. His missed Washington game should not be treated as a zero-production appearance when calculating per-game numbers.
From the Giants to Seattle
The Giants selected Love in the fourth round of the 2019 draft, 108th overall, after his college career at Notre Dame. He joined Seattle as an unrestricted free agent in March 2023 and earned a Pro Bowl selection in his first Seahawks season, which included four interceptions.
He later started all three playoff games in Seattle’s 2025 championship run. His interception in Super Bowl LX against New England led to a Seattle field goal. Those postseason contributions belong alongside, rather than inside, his regular-season statistical totals.

Regular-season records. Totals use each recorded season once, even when team splits and a combined row are both shown. Rates are recalculated from the counted totals. A dash means a value is missing or cannot be calculated reliably; these records do not establish complete career coverage. The current-season row is as of the update time above and can differ from the season statistics section, which adds up box scores through the latest recorded final.

Checked Oct 5, 2026. Rows with no recorded production are omitted.
Ravens linebacker Trenton Simpson, Jets safety Minkah Fitzpatrick and Broncos guard Ben Powers drew the largest fines, and five players were docked for hip-drop tackles.
The Chargers coach rejected any change after the loss in Seattle, and Justin Herbert backed his play-caller as the offense keeps stalling early in games.
