Steelers beat Chargers 35–24 in the Divisional round

The Pittsburgh Steelers beat the San Diego Chargers 35–24 at home at Heinz Field in the Divisional round of the 2008 playoffs on January 11, 2009.

The 59 combined points were the most in any game of the 2008 playoffs.

The Chargers went 8–8 in the regular season and the Steelers went 12–4. The Steelers went on to win Super Bowl XLIII, beating the Arizona Cardinals 27–23. The loss ended the Chargers’ season.

In their previous meeting, the Pittsburgh Steelers won 11–10 on November 16, 2008. When they met again, the Pittsburgh Steelers won 38–28 on October 4, 2009.
