Panthers beat Buccaneers 12–9 in 2003 Week 2

The Carolina Panthers beat the Tampa Bay Buccaneers 12–9 on the road at Raymond James Stadium in overtime in Week 2 of the 2003 regular season on September 14, 2003. It was decided by 3 points, a field goal or less.

The 21 combined points were the fewest in any game of Week 2. It was one of three games of Week 2 to need overtime.

The result moved the Panthers to 2–0 and dropped the Buccaneers to 1–1. The Panthers finished 2003 at 11–5 and lost Super Bowl XXXVIII. The Buccaneers finished 2003 at 7–9 and missed the playoffs.

In their previous meeting, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers won 23–10 on November 17, 2002. When they met again, the Carolina Panthers won 27–24 on November 9, 2003.
